Remote pump operations support in the Niger Delta

Supporting Seplat oil pipeline operations with remote pump analytics.

Seplat operates several oil pipelines. They use both centrifugal and plunger pumps. As they suffered several expensive gearbox failures, leading to extensive downtime and costly repairs, they requested IMBU to investigate the root-causes.

As part of the investigation, IMBU installed its remote pump analytics package, using high frequency sampled crank-angle referenced accelerometers and pressure sensors. Soon after, IMBU found several root-causes, which had led to these gearbox failures. As a result, Seplat has implemented several improvement measures in its pipeline operations.
